The new Ford Explorer is available with one of two engine options, depending on trim level selection. The standard engine in the Active, ST-Line, and Platinum is a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder.

Go for the ST for more power and sporty handling with a 3.0-liter V6 engine that makes 400 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. To achieve optimum performance standards, Ford recommends Premium fuel for the new Ford Explorer.
